It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hey all, just thought I'd share a couple pics. Here's a small glimpse of our Christmas tree. When my husband and I were first married we had a big tree with all white lights. It was decorated in red and silver and very elegant and classy. Then I had Tanner. :) All you parents see where this is going.
We now have all manner of homemade paper, wood, metal, and plastic ornaments. Of course now we have to have colored lights to go with the multitude of crayola color and you can't see it but we have a pretty snowman tree skirt that matches our homespun stockings. It's very pretty and charming but a true sign that a family lives here. :)
Crystal, if you're reading this, that's your bell you made me last year. Cara's angel is also somewhere on here.
And you can see that since we don't have a fireplace our stockings are hung by the Love Inspired books. :)
I'll post some pictures of us playing in the snow later this weekend. (Yep, I'm giving in and letting him play in the snow. Woohoo...progress!

We don't have any cool snow stuff (yet) but Calvin got off the bus yesterday and said, "Let's make snow angels!" I have no idea where he got that from but he collapsed in the snow and got it right. They've been having a lot of fun with it.

Can't wait to see your pics!

Oh cute! You gotta love the homemade ornaments =) I think we're going to make some this year too. Thanks for sharing your tree with us!

I had hoped to post pictures of our snowman but the rain came and he looks a little sad. We're waiting on ice right now. It sounds silly but I actually love those days the weather is so bad we all get "stuck" at home. I love having an excuse to stay in and snuggle together playing board games.

Anyway, if we get more snow I'll post some pics then. :)

Jen, snow angels...how sweet. Did you get a picture?

ausjenny, I have to say I would be sad without seeing snow every year, however I wouldn't mind seeing Australia someday. I've always wanted to visit.

Georgiana, have fun making ornaments. We make something every year. A few years ago we made popcorn chains. It was a lot of work and messy, but ooohhh so charming. :)

I have ornaments on my tree that my boys made (and some I had to finally throw out because of mold...ha) and I LOVE those. Our tree is "homemade" and beautiful to me! I love your tree. Some of my ornaments are from students when I was teaching. I have a story for each ornament, practically!

I hope we don't lose our electricity in this ice. Ugh. I like pretty snow, but not ice.
